A new television series is coming soon, and it has craft beer lovers bubbling with anticipation. The program is called Brew Dogs and it will premiere on the Esquire Network on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at 10 p.m.
A Nation of Beer
Anyone familiar with the craft beer industry in the United States is fully aware of its tremendous growth over the past few years. Brew Dogs plans to spotlight some of America’s great beer cities- places where the suds are thick and the influence of craft beer is felt far and wide.
Your Humble Hosts
Brew Dogs plans to highlight American beer and its growth and influence, but the show will not be hosted by Americans. The men prepared to talk about beer each week are actually from Scotland. They are James Watt and Martin Dickie, two men who founded the fastest growing brewery in the United Kingdom and are prepared to spread the gospel of craft beer far and wide in each city they visit.
From Sea to Shining Sea
Seven Brew Dogs episodes are already set for broadcast. The first cities to be graced by James and Martin’s presence are:
- San Diego
- San Francisco
- Seattle
- Denver
- Philadelphia
- Portland
- Boston
The above are certainly great American beer cities and each has had a profound impact on craft beer and brewing. More cities will likely be added to the list once the program gets off the ground and proves itself popular with viewers.
Brewing and Creativity
Brew Dogs will not be just another show about making beer and selling beer. No, James and Martin and the producers of the show have something very different in mind. The two guys will be let loose to explore beer in new, less traditional and often entertaining ways. On the first few episodes, for instance, the two guys get caught up in adventures that include creation of a vaporized beer (inhaled, not swallowed), brewing of a beer made with cactus and using solar power, and making a beer with chocolate and a high dose of caffeine.
Stay Tuned
Keep your DVR set for September 24, 2013 when brew Dogs premieres on Esquire Network. It sounds like a fun show with unlimited possibilities so sit back in your favorite easy chair, crack open a cold one, and learn more than you ever imagined about craft beer and the people who make it great.
