Following a national trend, Austin’s Independence Brewing is excited to announce that its popular White Rabbit white ale will be packaged in cans for the first time. Previously available only during certain times of the year and only on tap, White Rabbit will now be sold in canned form along with an ever- expanding number of craft beers from Texas and the nation.
“We selected one of our favorite beer releases of last year, White Rabbit for our first can launch because of its innate drinkability and popularity,” states Independence co-founder Amy Cartwright. “Ideally portable for outdoor activities from tailgating to tubing, the new can design will allow locals and visitors to enjoy our beer anytime and anywhere.”
White Rabbit is a medium- bodied brew made with orange zest, coriander, and peppercorns for a uniquely spiced personality. The beer was first formulated by head brewer Brandon Radicke and first brewed in May, 2013. It gets its inspiration from traditional Belgian witbiers but definitely has a flavor profile all its own.
Independence Brewing isn’t stopping its move to cans with White Rabbit. Next in line is Independence Pale Ale, the 2014 Good Food Award winner. It will be packaged in metal starting in mid- 2014 and the move to cans is expected to include other Independence Brewing products in due time.
As part of its promotional efforts, Independence Brewing is hosting a social media contest. It wants fans to post photos of the cans with the tag @indybrewing and #ChaseTheRabbit. The winner of the contest will receive two tickets to the Independence Brewery psychedelic dance party plus a White Rabbit swag bag.
Looked for six pack cans of Independence Brewing White Rabbit in places where Independence beer products are presently sold. And be sure to post your photos online for contest entry.
