America’s standing in the world of craft beer has greatly improved
Beer books and beer reviews are growing in number and in popularity. As the craft beer segment continues to gain size and influence, it makes sense that the number of publications dedicated to beer would increase as well. One book that offers page after page of reviews and insight is Great American Craft Beer: A Guide to the Nation’s Finest Beers and Breweries, a beer book by Andy Crouch.
Great American Craft Beer takes the reader on a journey through America. It profiles some of the beer products available throughout the United States, along with the breweries that make them special. It offers good, accurate, detailed descriptions of the taste and other qualities of different beers, along with basic facts for each, such as alcohol level, the brewery that produces it, etc. It includes a photograph of the beer and its label, allowing the reader to visually see the product offering and imagine how delicious it would taste.
Great American Craft Beer devotes most of its pages to the beer, breweries, and personalities that make each one unique and interesting. However, this book is more than just a collection of beer reviews. It also talks about beer travel, beer history, food, and beer recipes. Readers can thus brush up on their beer education while also enjoying a recipe or two that calls for beer as one of its main ingredients.
Beer is often difficult to describe- especially for novices who may be unsure of the proper description to fit a specific taste. Great American Craft Beer helps individuals’ bridge the adjective gap. It presents many different products and then describes their flavor with multiple adjectives, helping newbies realize the proper way to describe a specific taste sensation.
I have often said that there is a beer out there for everyone, and Great American Craft Beer: A Guide to the Nation’s Finest Beers and Breweries is proof positive that my opinion is shared by others. It is a good book with plenty of tasting notes, trivia, and other things to keep interested beer drinkers reading and fantasizing for hours.
