Get your brewing industry news with Southwest brewing News
Beer enthusiasts have plenty of online resources from which to obtain news about the beer industry, beer events, beer festivals, etc. As for print media, there aren’t many choices but there are some noteworthy options out there and one of them is Southwest Brewing News, a regional brewing newspaper that covers the southwestern United States, including Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, and California.
Southwest Brewing News strives to keep the interested brewing enthusiast supplied with news and official information on commercial brewing, product innovation, brewing news, and more. Each issue contains general craft beer articles as well as separate sections for each state in the region. The publication is printed on newspaper and it follows a newspaper- like format with its articles, which are usually short and to the point.
In the center of each issue of Southwest Brewing News are maps for each of the highlighted states in the region. Each map indicates the physical location for all of the breweries, brewpubs, fine beer bars & restaurants, and noteworthy homebrew shops in each state. What I like about these maps is that they can help lead you to new craft beer experiences. Readers are often surprised to open up an issue of Southwest Brewing News, turn to a map, and discover that a brewpub exists just a short distance away. I have used Southwest Brewing News for this very purpose and I presently have several breweries on my list for future road trips.
Southwest Brewing News contains about twenty- four pages in each issue and it published six times per year. It would be nice if the frequency of publication was greater and if there were more pages in each issue, but this is still a good publication for general craft beer news. Look for a free copy at your favorite brewery or brewpub and enjoy the beer that the southwestern United States has to offer
