A fire broke out at the Yuengling Brewery complex in Tampa, Florida around 8 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time on Saturday, October 26, 2013.
The fire engulfed one of the storage buildings at the complex and it took Tampa Fire Rescue workers about an hour to get under control. Tampa Fire Rescue Captain Lonnie Benniefield estimates the damage for the blaze at around $1 million.
Firefighters worked quickly to extinguish the flames. One firefighter suffered minor injuries and was treated and released at an area hospital.
No one know the exact cause of the blaze, but early statements from authorities indicate the fire was accidental. An official report confirming the exact cause will be issued later.
Yuengling Brewery, the oldest brewing operation in the United States, is headquartered in Pottsville, Pennsylvania. Its Tampa brewing facility was acquired from Stroh in 1999 as a means to expand brewing capacity and meet consumer demand.
