Boulevard Brewing, one of the nation’s largest craft brewing operations, plans to debut two new products as part of its latest 12 pack sampler.
The new packages, dubbed the Sample Twelve, will include three bottles each of two new products: Westside Rye Ale and Mid- Coast IPA. Westside Rye has been described as an easy- going, sessionable, lightly spiced ale. Mid- Coast IPA, in contrast, contains more than 100 IBU of bitterness and now ranks as the most hop- intense beer in the current Boulevard portfolio. Unfiltered Wheat and 80 Acre Hoppy Wheat will complete the sample packs, again with three bottles each.
Boulevard refers to these two new products as Tasting Room beers. They received that name because, before now, the only way consumers could sample a product in its developmental phase was to visit the Boulevard tasting room following a tour. Westside Rye and Mid- Coast IPA are the first Tasting Room beers offered in bottles and Boulevard management hopes that the inclusion in a sampler pack will help the beers reach a wider audience as well as challenge the company’s brewers to create new and interesting beer.
The new Sample Twelve will eventually replace the current 12- pack sampler completely, as the latter is phased out. New selections will be rotated/added to the Sample Twelve on a regular basis beginning next year.
Expect to find the new Sample Twelve in places where Boulevard products and sample packs are presently sold.
