Second Annual Milwaukee Brewfest is Almost Here
Milwaukee is a city synonymous with beer, so it isn’t surprising that the city of Milwaukee has a brew fest or two. One that is coming up in a few weeks is going to be the second in what is shaping up to be many years of beer sampling and entertainment. It is the Second Annual Milwaukee Brewfest. Here is a quick list of facts:
Event: The Second Annual Milwaukee Brewfest
Date: Saturday, July 30, 2011
Time: 3pm to 7pm for general admission; VIP entrance begins at 2pm
Place: Old Coast Guard Pavillion Park
Cost: $40 in advance; $45 at the entrance. VIP tickets cost $55 in advance; $60 at entrance, and include free parking. Mastercard and Visa are accepted for admission payment
Parking cost: About $5
Last year marked the first for this event and it proved many things to the organizers, but chief among them is the fact that Milwaukee area residents love craft beer and enjoy festivals. The response last year was overwhelming, and organizers of the event have responded in kind, quadrupling the facility locations and tripling the craft beers to sample.
This year’s festival will sport three large tents showcasing more than 100 craft beers from Milwaukee, other part of Wisconsin, and across the Uinted States and the world. Milwaukee’s own Lakefront Brewing, Stonefly Brewing, Waterfront Brewing, and many others will attend along with national breweries such as North Coast, Left Hand Brewing, Blue Moon, Abita, Shiner, and many more.
Beer is the main event at the Second Annula Milwaukee Brewfest, but it is only the beginning. The fest will also include delicious food from local vendors, educational homebrewing demonstrations, entertaining exhibits and games, and dazzling works of art from local artists and craftsmen. And let’s not forget the 2011 Miss Brewfest- she will be crowned during the afternoon’s festivities.
No brewfest would be complete without sponsors and the Milwaukee Brewfest has plenty, including food and beverage contributors such as Brew City Tools, Rainforest Beverages, Whole Foods, etc., along with other business sponsors such as Southwest Vacations, Rogansshoes, Ben’s Cycle, and many more. And like last year, the Milwaukee Brewfest is going to help out local residents in need through its partnership with the Hunger Task Force. Those who bring two cans of non- perishable food to the Milwaukee Brewfest store will receive $5 off admission and a percentage of proceeds will benefit the Hunger Task Force, Children’s Oncology Services, and the Museum of Beer and Brewing.
The Second Annual Milwaukee Brewfest is still young, but it is growing in popularity and sponsorship. This year’s festival is going to be even bigger and better than last year with expansion on all fronts. So mark your calendars and head to the city of Milwaukee, Wisconsin for an afternoon of fun and craft drinking adventure.
